U.S. and Turkish Experts to Join Investigation into Hong Kong Cargo Plane Accident

Experts from the United States and Turkey will assist in the investigation of the cargo plane accident in Hong Kong that claimed the lives of two ground handling workers.
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will send a five-member team to support the Hong Kong Air Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) in examining the incident. Similarly, experts from Turkey’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will contribute to the investigation.
The incident involved a Boeing 747-418 operated by Turkish cargo carrier ACT Airlines, which overran the runway at Hong Kong International Airport. Two ground handling personnel lost their lives in the accident.
